Good old 16-shots-per-second videogame legend of the 1980s Takahashi Meijin recorded a few songs during the peak of his popularity in the second half of that decade, but since then he’s been largely quiet. That is, until now.
Spying a clear gap in the marketplace for hi-NRG 240bpm breakdowns and Auto-Tuned extreme otaku karaoke, Hudson is about to move in with a new album of “arranged” tracks celebrating its finest games of the Famicom generation. The CD is titled Takahashi Meijin Legend: Spirit of 16 Rapid-Fire and features 14 cuts of orgasmic retro sounds, all processed through some crazy filters and sped up until the whole thing sounds like the only instrument used in its creation was helium.
On sale in Japan on January 27th, this slice of history can be yours for 2,100 yen, guv. Probably best check out the preview video above before confirming your pre-order: this CD may contain nuts.
